2019 vintage for MARITANA Chardonnay was exceptionally good. The first vintage we bottled the Kent Ritchie Vineyard and the third vintage for La Rivière, Hansen Hill and Shop Block 1967. It was our first vintage at Grand Cru Custom Crush and the team there performed brilliantly in receiving each block as they were harvested and translating them into individualistic single vineyard was as well as the La Rivière blend. To remind you - all hand harvested. Sorted in the vineyard and at the winery prior to whole cluster pressing at low pressure for only the best quality of juice. Fermented in small French oak barrels primarily 1-2 year old rather than new barrels. Aged on primary fermentation lees - better integration of aroma/flavors - and bottled with minimal handling. No water or acid additions - only SO2 and yeast food to insure completion of fermentation were added.
These wines are ready to drink now. We recently tasted all four wines and each was in pristine condition. AS USUAL - we Stand Behind each bottle and will replace any bottles that do not perform at their peak.
PERFECT SPRING/SUMMER Chardonnay will match with lighter dishes as well as show well with grilled fish and pasta options.
