2020 in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma, California produced some  very beautiful and balanced wines. The fires that made an impact in both Napa and Sonoma surprisingly did not affect the vineyard sources we used. The La Rivière blend in 2020 had a lot of Dutton Ranch fruit from both Shop Block 1967 and from Hansen Hill Vineyard along with Martinelli's River Road Vineyard. The Kent Ritchie Vineyard source came in very light - almost 60% of a normal year and the resulting wine is extremely complex and concentrated. Shop Block 1967 always seems the least affected by changes in the weather with it's 50+ year old root system to give it stability.

All three wines are really special examples of the year and the style of MARITANA VINEYARDS. Focused, perfumed with a sense of flowers as well as stone fruit with elevated flavors that linger.
