Kent Ritchie has been growing Chardonnay at this location along Eastside Road since the 1970's and he's got it down. It's a very interesting vineyard source. Back when it was sound business to plant the classic California Chardonnay UCD 04 - a production clone of modest quality, Kent planted the shy bearing "Wente Clone" with the highest quality potential for California Chardonnay.
